After Your Massage

After your Massage: Try to rest, give yourself a little break and allow your body some time to heal itself. You may find avoiding alcohol and caffeine is a good idea for a while. Drink plenty of water! Again… plenty of water after your massage. This will help your body heal itself and flush toxins which may have been stirred up by your treatment. This means at least 1/2 ounce for every pound of body weight. So, a 200 lb man would normally drink at least 100 ounces of water each day, and even more for 24 hours after a massage.

People often ask us how soon they should reschedule follow up appointments. There is no generic answer. Many do benefit from a series of treatments scheduled fairly close to one another. This series of follow up appointments allows us to get past the pain and symptoms and address the root imbalances that got you to where you are in the first place.

Often, a good place to start is committing to 10 visits. Most benefit from a couple of visits a week for 2-3 weeks, then starting to taper off after that. How soon is up to you.

What are YOUR goals? Do you feel like a million dollars now? Often, healing comes in waves, with progress seeming to go up and down. This is natural, and a good thing. Do you want to come in once a month and relieve a bit of shoulder stress, or are you the proactive type who wants to do whatever is necessary to get to the root of the problem and perhaps NEVER have that stress again?

Some people may come every other week or once a month for life. And others may opt to come two or three times a week for a few months, we may help them with serious issues that have been bothering them and robbing them of quality of life…then decide from there. Its all up to you!
